Five years ago on June 23, 2005, the Supreme Court issued its infamous decision in Kelo v. New London, in which economic development was held to be a valid public purpose for which eminent domain could be utilized to seize private property and give that property to another private entity.

MONROE, OH - A jury has awarded the owners of 1.3 acres at the fast-growing Interstate 75-Ohio 63 intersection $900,000 for their property in an eminent domain case growing out of the Ohio 63 widening project.
