Kanner  

 

An experienced appellate attorney and eminent domain expert, Mr. Kanner has been a practicing appellate lawyer in eminent domain and inverse condemnation for forty years. Mr. Kanner has been counsel for property owners in numerous precedent-setting cases before the California Supreme Court and has appeared as counsel for parties and amici curiae in a number of inverse condemnation cases in the United States Supreme Court.  Prior to joining Manatt, Mr. Kanner was Professor of Law at the Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he remains a Professor Emeritus.

Mr. Kanner is a prolific writer and speaker on eminent domain.  He is also a frequent author in law journals and serves as editor of Just Compensation, a monthly periodical on the law of eminent domain.  Mr. Kanner has been interviewed extensively and has been regularly quoted in national publications such as The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times.
